Brown and gold rosary cord? It's kind of an unusual color combination, isn't it?

It's also a well-known secret of Renaissance painters that the colors brown and gold, when placed next to each other, make each other appear more vibrant and alive. For this reason, if you look at a painting from that period, if you examine it very closely, next to each gold or brown brush stroke that you will see, you will see a smaller brush stroke of the other color.

It works in Renaissance art, and it definitely works in rosary cord! We're currently trying to find a way to better portray it in photographs because it really is not done justice. It isn't two colors spun together - it's an actual artifact of the process used to create this cord.  It's for this reason that, unlike the red and blue, which we had trouble keeping on our shelves... the Regal Brown and Gold is our white elephant.
